When you look down your student list, are you seeing multiple records for the same person?  If so, there are lots of reasons why this can happen.  Perhaps the student or parent registered with a different email address.  Or perhaps they were registered by a friend who added them to their circle of family and friends, but didn't enter their email.
No matter what the reason, we're pleased to say that  This can happen for a few different reasons, the most common of which is a student accidentally registering with different email addresses, thereby creating duplicate account for themselves. With CourseStorm, there's a super simple way to clean up this duplication and keep all of the student's info in one record using our Student Merge tool.

...

To use the tool, all you need to do is identify one of the records you'd like to merge.  (It doesn't matter which one you start with.)  From their student record, click Actions at  Actions at the top right of the screen.  Next, click click Merge Records.

Here, you'll see a summary of the student's info along with instructions to search for the record you'd like to merge with.  All you need to do is search for the other record and select it from the results.

Next, you'll select which record you'd like to keep around (usually this is the one with the more up-to-date email address).  Click Keep next to that record.  As you do, you'll get a preview of how the data will shake out after the merge with kept data highlighted in green.

Finally, click Merge Student Accounts at the bottom of the screen and we'll combine the accounts into a single record containing the chosen address, phone, email, registrations, waiting list entries, custom form answers, and more!

Note

If the two profiles to be merged belong to different Family/Friend groups, they cannot be merged. Because Friend/Family accounts are linked to different group owners who have their own account access, profiles linked to different groups cannot be merged for privacy and security purposes.
