Why can't I delete my catalog?

Tip: We recommend deleting catalogs only if the catalog is truly an unneeded duplicate, or was created in error. CourseStorm is designed to keep old catalogs as an archive, as this protects the integrity of the data associated with registration.

Deleting a catalog deletes all the classes within that catalog. This action is permanent. While associated registrations will not be deleted, the class info associated with them will be, aside from the class name. Rosters for deleted classes are no longer accessible, and the class setup details are no longer linked in the Admin Menu for classes in catalogs that have been deleted.

A catalog that contains active or canceled registrations or waitlist entries cannot be deleted. If you need to delete a catalog that includes classes with registrations, cancellations, or waitlist entries associated with it, here are some options:

  • Move the class into another catalog.

  • Transfer the students to another instance of the class in another catalog.

  • Manually remove waitlist entries from the Waitlist.

Once the catalog contains only classes with empty rosters (including empty canceled rosters) and empty waitlists, the catalog can be deleted.
