Class Reminders

CourseStorm has two available options for sending class reminders to registered students.

• Class Reminder Emails

• Class Reminders by SMS (text messages)

Class Reminder Emails

CourseStorm automatically generates reminder emails for students on the roster of upcoming classes. This is a built-in feature and doesn’t need to be turned on. The reminder emails are sent to the email addresses on file for all the students on the roster at the time of the email is sent out. For children’s classes, or for any student who was registered by someone else and doesn’t have their own email address, the reminder will be sent to the customer who completed the registration. Class Reminder emails are sent out 2 days prior to the class’s start date.

Class Reminder emails include the basic details on file for the class at the time the email is sent, such as start date and time, location, and the program’s contact information. If you use Custom Email Notifications, your custom notification details will be included as well.

Class Reminders via SMS (Text Message)

In addition to the email reminders that are generated automatically, Admin Users can opt to also send SMS/text reminders to students with a mobile phone number in their student profile. To enable this feature, navigate to Admin Menu > Account > Settings > Notifications, and check the box for “SMS Class Reminders.” When this feature is enabled, the system will check the phone number on file for registered students, and will send a text reminder about their upcoming class if their phone number is a mobile number capable of receiving texts.

SMS class reminders are sent on the same schedule as the automated email class reminders.
