We understand that you would like to see the total amount of funds scheduled to be paid out to you in future payouts.  Our engineering team has created an optional and complementary feature to provide this info at a glance!

Note: If you would like us to make this available to your program, please contact us at support@coursestorm.com!

Your Payout Balance represents the net total amount of the funds to be paid out to your program’s bank account from all of your upcoming payouts.  It is essentially a real-time sum of the amounts in the “Total” column on your Payouts Screen for all pending payouts. It is a net total because it accounts for CourseStorm’s service fees which are deducted from your gross subtotal.

Your gross subtotal and fees total for individual payouts can be viewed by clicking on the date of any payout.

Your Payout Balance will change in real time when any of the following events occur:

  • A payout is completed

  • New registrations come in

  • Refunds are processed

  • Payment plan payments are charged to student cards

Negative Payout Balances

If adjustments (such as Refunded Fee Adjustments) on your pending payouts exceed the net dollars yet to be paid out to your program, your Payout Balance will be a negative dollar amount.  As new registrations come in and are scheduled on payouts, the items composing the negative balance will be applied against them until the negative balance is fully accounted for.  When the negative balance is fully accounted for, the Payout Balance will return to a positive balance as more registrations come in.

In the case of a negative Payout Balance, the Payouts Screen will display a “Pending” payout with no date to indicate the dollar amount that will be deducted from upcoming payouts when you receive new registrations.
