Closing Registration for a Class

By default, CourseStorm will automatically close registration for a class either at the class start time (if seats are still available), or when the maximum seat allotment set by an Admin User has been reached. 

That said, there are many reasons you might want to close registration for a class early.  Maybe you're looking to save spaces for a few walk-in registrations or are closing registration the week before to avoid last-minute registrants.  Whatever your reason, it's simple to close public registration and still maintain your ability to enter registrations from the administration area.

You can opt to manually close registration for a single class, or set an early registration close timeframe that applies to all classes on your site.

Manually Closing Registration for a Single Class

From the Classes screen, click the Actions button and you'll see a list of options to change the class status.  One of your options will be Close Registration. After making this selection, you'll be asked to confirm your choice and that's it - you've closed registration.



Note: Although registration is closed, the public will still be able to view the class.  If you'd prefer to remove it from display as well, we recommend hiding the class instead.

Setting an Early Registration Close Day for Your Entire Site

If you would like all of your classes to close a certain number of days prior to their start dates, you can set an early closure timeframe from 1 to 30 days prior to the class or session start date. When an early closure date is set, registration will close at midnight on the designated day. For example, if you elect to close registration for your classes 5 days prior to the class start dates, registration will close at 12:01am on the 5th day prior to the start date.

Early closure timeframes apply to all classes or sessions in all catalogs on your site.
