Automated emails in CourseStorm
Here you will find a list of every type of automated email, a summary of each, and information on who receives them.
Registration Receipt/Confirmation Email:
We automatically send out notification emails when someone places a registration for a class. This notification will go to both the student and designated administrators.
This notification will always be sent to the student but only sent to the admin if they have checked off that they want to receive registration notification from the Administrators section of the admin menu.
Cancellation Notifications:
If you cancel a registration or class as a whole, everyone on the roster will receive an email informing them that the class has been canceled.
Students and instructors will receive a copy of this email.
Two-day reminders:
These are sent out two days before the first day of class to remind people to come to class.
These emails are only sent to students.
Instructor Emails:
These are sent to instructors when a change has been made to one of their courses.
For example: If an admin changes the time or date of a course, the instructor will be notified of the change.
Low enrollment notifications:
When a class is at risk of not running due to low enrollments, its roster students and instructor(s) + your program admins that have registration notifications enabled will receive an email asking them to reach out to their friends to try and fill the class.
This email is sent to students that have not unsubscribed from previous notifications like these.
Instructors will only receive this email if they have an email address in the system, if you have instructor notifications enabled, and if they haven't unsubscribed from these notifications in the past.
Abandoned registration reminder:
This email goes out if a student does not complete registration but has entered their contact information. By entering contact info, the student is creating a profile in CourseStorm.
This email goes to the student in an attempt to recover the registration.
Note: Abandoned Registration Reminders are not available when the Cart feature is enabled.
Administrator registration and payout reminders:
As mentioned in the first section, admins can toggle these notifications on and off from the admin menu section.
Admins can check off a box if they want to receive a notification for every registration and/or notification for every payout.
